Grievance Redressal & Conduct Procedure

Silver Oaks School maintains a robust complaint and redressal procedure, founded on the philosophy of self-discipline and guidance.

1. Procedure for Students (Behavioral Concerns)

The goal of our disciplinary process is to correct errant behavior through counseling and support, ensuring students learn responsibility.

Initial Stage: Counselling and Committee Action

  • Initial Report: Any errant behavior is first brought to the notice of the Coordinator.
  • Immediate Action: The Discipline Committee addresses the issue immediately by providing mandatory counselling to the student.

Escalation Stage: Principal and Disciplinary Committee

  • Repeated Transgressions: Repeated violations of school rules or the Code of Conduct are escalated to the Principal.
  • Collective Decision: The Principal convenes a meeting of the Disciplinary Committee to discuss the matter and take a collective decision regarding the appropriate consequence.
  • Parent Communication: A written complaint or formal notice is sent to the parents detailing the issue and the action taken.
  • Extreme Cases: In extreme or severe cases, the consequence may include suspension or rustication from the school.

Student Involvement

  • School Cabinet Role: The School Cabinet plays a vital role in maintaining general orderliness within the school and guiding fellow students toward responsible conduct.

2. Procedure for Students (Academic Concerns)

  • Reporting: Academic concerns (e.g., specific learning difficulties, persistent low performance) are brought to the notice of the Academic Coordinator.
  • Intervention: The Coordinator works out the necessary remediation program or alternative academic support strategies, tailored to the student's specific learning difficulties.
  • Parent Notification: Cases involving serious or persistent academic concerns are formally brought to the notice of the parents for collaborative action.

3. Procedure for Parents (Concerns and Suggestions)

We welcome parents to bring any concern or suggestion to the school's attention to ensure a positive learning environment.

Contact Point Concern Type Action Taken
School Desk (First Point of Contact) General concerns, suggestions, routine academic or disciplinary issues. The Office Assistant will address the issue directly or forward it immediately to the appropriate authority (e.g., Class Teacher, Coordinator or concerned authority).
